About Dr. Beal

Born in Sweetwater, Texas, Dr. Beal was raised in Houston, Texas (Spring Branch area). He attended the University of Houston from 1971 through 1975. Having graduated with a Bachelor in Science in Biology in 1975, he then attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated with his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) in 1979. While he enjoyed the change of seasons and the people of Ohio, the winters were just too much. He started practice in San Antonio, Texas with Jerry Patterson, D.P.M. in 1979. He became a solo practitioner in 1985 and has been in the Methodist Plaza building ever since.

He is married with 2 children. He has been involved with the San Antonio Livestock Exposition since 1995 and is a Life Member. In the 1980’s he was involved with the local chapter of the March of Dimes as well as serving a president of the local chapter of the American Diabetes Association. He is a past instructor of CPR with the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross. His hobbies include hiking, cycling, bowling, and golf. While running a private practice does occupy a lot of time, Dr. Beal does like to travel on occasion (his wife likes beaches and he likes the mountains). He has been a proud supporter of the local Texas Public Radio for the over 15 years.
